A LOOK BACK AT THE EVALUATION VISIT BY THE COUNCIL OF EUROPE'S EXPERT.
From November 8 to 9, 2024, members of the association and their partners welcomed Maria Gravari Barbas, a professor at the University of Paris, who was commissioned by the Permanent Secretariat of the Council of Europe's Cultural Routes to assess the application of the Itinéraires Liberté Pyrénées Europe. On October 17 and 18, 2024, a major symposium was held in Banyuls-sur-Mer (Pyrénées-Orientales). The theme was "Les Passeurs et les évadés durant la Seconde Guerre mondiale" ("Smugglers and escapees during the Second World War"). A total of 16 contributors contributed to renewing the history and historiography of escape networks to Spain and the diplomatic stakes involved. The event was well attended, with 245 participants.
